Since we reported that there were two initially areas that the Environment Agency was doing an engineering study for flood alleviation this has now been extended to five areas and the initial findings should be available in March.
Severn Trent's proposed removal of the railway bank at the Mythe is of great concern Severn and Avon asked for the Environment Agency presentation on the proposal which we attended last Thursday 29/01/2012 and we believe that the modelling done for this project is suspect because the wrong water levels were used (they were estimated).
Our report Building on the Floodplain is Misguided (which you can access on this website) has proved that flood levels were in the order of 14.2 metres AOD not the 12.92 AOD used in their modelling, also a lot of other parameters were left out because it was site specific.
